Citoid is a stateless node service on the SCB cluster. It processes HTTP requests containing a URL or ISBN number by retrieving citation information from external sources with help from a local XULrunner-based Zotero server. It responds with a JSON structure containing the citation information - wikitech.wikimedia.org ![]()

# Use in Wikipedia Citoid is a new citation tool integrated in the VisualEditor, currently in development. The newest version supports URLs and DOIs - it will attempt to generate a full, template-supported citation after an editor pastes either of these identifiers into the VisualEditor citation tool.
